Culture & People Development

A company culture where everyone thrives

Company culture is so important in today’s work climate. People want career development. They want training. They need to know the company’s WHY, and they need to be able to see themselves in it.

In order to attract and retain the top talent, leaders need to be trained on how to develop a company culture where every person thrives. After all, your company already has a culture, but is it the one you want?

High performance teams

When teams are cohesive, agile, and function well, there is trust and synergy that makes the entire organization function smoothly. The trajectory you set as a team will shape your activities and outcomes for years ahead.

High performance teams require team members to have a high level of self-awareness. They are in touch with and manage their own emotions, which positively impacts their performance and the performance of their team. Many teams think they are a team, simply because they are a group of people who work together. Some teams may be able to develop their collective performance naturally, but most require leadership from someone who can bring them together.

That’s where we come in. True teamwork is exhilarating! High performance teams have high emotional intelligence. They exhibit these qualities:

  • Trust among team members
  • Ability to embrace conflict as an opportunity for growth
  • A high level of commitment
  • Accountable to one another
  • Results focused

As they learn together, your team will increase their self-awareness, grow their leadership skills, transform their relationships with each other, and foster a coaching culture within the organization. The result is a team that is supercharged for maximum results.

You may qualify for a Training Grant

The Government of Canada, in partnership with the Provinces, has made generous training funding available. For example, in British Columbia, the Canada-BC Jobs Grant can help employers recoup up to 60% of the costs of eligible training programs. Job grants are available in all Canadian Provinces and Territories. You can find more information here.

The Success Biz Coach Business Skills Training Programs are eligible for the grants when clients have applied for the funding.

Note (disclaimer):

Success Biz Coach has a mature training practice, called Leadership Development Academy, that runs separately from our coaching and facilitation services. The training that we provide is designed to support specific learning outcomes that are unique to each training program.

While accomplishing the learning outcomes, we provide a range of educational materials including worksheets, white papers, presentations, and other related documentation. The learning path that we use in our training follows a progressive sequence so that each learning builds on the next.

We commonly make use of case studies and real-life scenarios with participants to help them understand how to apply the core learning outcomes. The approach we use is fundamentally the same, whether provided in a group on one-to-one.

For clarity, Success Biz Coach does not provide any business coaching or consulting services to trainees. Instead, our focus is on providing participants with skills, concepts, and knowledge to deliver business services themselves. For instance, to continue one of our examples above, we would not create a strategic plan; instead, we would train clients to develop the skills to create and implement the plan themselves.

Case Study

case

Jack, President of a mid-sized company, came to us with a clear goal: he wanted his company to be recognized as a leader in their industry. He knew he had to improve the culture of his organization and create a more cohesive leadership team to achieve this goal. But he didn’t know how.

Jack had become extremely frustrated. He was aware that the leadership team was dysfunctional, siloed and did not have the agility he felt was necessary to thrive, grow and reach their goals in turbulent times. He experienced them as a group of individuals who were focused on their results and not focused on the elevation, success, and growth of the organization. This was showing up throughout the organization.

Keeping Jack’s goal in mind, we delivered a series of workshops designed to elevate the team’s awareness of what it takes to create a culture of collaboration, innovation, and a highly functioning leadership team. This process gave them opportunities to practise the new behaviors required, and brought to light the unique talents each member brought to the team. It also shone a light on how those abilities were being underutilized.

The team embraced the challenge and dramatically improved their team dynamics. They transformed into a high performing team with improved communication skills, less conflict, significantly more innovation, and a team commitment to a higher standard of accountability and results.

In the process, Jack also realized that he needed to lead differently. As a key member of the leadership team, he needed to adjust his leadership style in order to affect the changes he desired.

The company is now recognized as the leader in their industry.
